October 2014 Stamp of the Month Bloghop

Welcome to the October 2014 Stamp of the Month Bloghop, a huge loop of 72 participating Close to My Heart Consultants!

This month we are featuring, "Home For the Holidays", a stamp set with seven images.

You may have been hopping from Vicki Price's Blog PostOr you may be starting out with me!  Whatever the case, you will hop on over to Melissa Laverty's Page next.  If you get lost along the way, you can find a complete list of the bloggers here, http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

I have designed a Christmas Greeting Card to look like ormanents hanging from a sash.  I used the Black Striped Ribbon, Neutral Metallic Baker's Twine, Black Buttons from a retired Black Mini-Medley, Gold Glitter Gems, Black Epoxy Bubbles, White Daisy Cardstock,
Yuletide Carol B&T, New England Ivy Ink Pad, Ruby Ink Pad, Black Ink Pad, Desert Sand Ink Pad (you can barely see my second generation stamping under the hanging images), 3-D Foam Tape, Mini Glue Dots, tape runner, and Value Pack of Cards and Envelopes.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from a retired stamp set, "Christmas Love".

For any of the wonderful creations you see on this bloghop remember that you will only be able to purchase this stamp set during October 2014.  You can click here to order yours!

Stamp of the Month September 2014 Bloghop

Welcome to the September '14 Stamp of the Month Bloghop!

This month all of the 70 participating CTMH Bloggers are featuring, "Family Is Forever", a stamp set with 7 images.

The bloghop is one big loop.  You can begin anywhere in this list and go forward or backward.  You may have just been at Priscilla Gotham's BlogGoing forward, you will go to Shirley Ross' Blog next after mine.

I made art for a frame this month.  (Sorry but the frame was purchased at the new Walmart where I am selling jewelry.)  I decided to try something with the Hexagon Irresistables (now retired) and see if stamping the big tree image with Sorbet Ink would be resisted in the various patterns on the hexagons.  It was!!  Then I sponged Lagoon Ink all over to create texture.  I put some Smoothie Striped Washi Tape behind my tree on the dark side of the Bulk Chalk It Up B&T paper.  I added two pieces of White Daisy Cardstock with rounded corners to be banners stamped with Black Ink, 5 Bulk Sorbet Chalk It Up Assortment hearts, and two Durables Artisian Studs.  Additionally, I put two rows of Teal Shimmer Trim across the top of the tree.

Simple and quick!

Stamp of the Month Bloghop for August 2014

Ahh, I know that summer is drawing to a close when I see a Halloween Stamp Set as the Stamp of the Month!  But it's okay because the SOTM is adorable!  And you're about to see some wonderful artwork using it.

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Bloghop!  There are 67 CTMH consultants participating in this month's bloghop!!  Each one's blog will feature the darling, August SOTM - "What a Hoot" containing 17 images.

The bloghop is a very large loop of blog posts.  You can start anywhere and then make your way around the hop.  You may be beginning right here or you may have just come from Sheila Bennett's BlogAfter my post hop over to Michelle Loncar's Blog.  If you get lost along the way, you'll find a complete list of the bloggers at http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

This month I created a Halloween Card from the SOTM.  There were so many options from which to select.  Here is what I came up with:

The products I used were August Stamp of the Month, Scaredy Cat Paper Packet, Thistle Diagonal Striped Ribbon, Sunset Chevron Washi Tape, Black Glitter Paper, Black Enamel Stars, Black Exclusive Ink Pad, Value Pack White Daisy Card Bases, and Tombow Adhesive.

You can buy the August SOTM, "What a Hoot", anytime during the month of August.  When your order is at least $50 you can get it for just $5.  Or buy only the SOTM for $17.95.  You may click here to purchase your own "What a Hoot" from my retail site.

I hope you are enjoying our SOTM bloghop for August!  Thanks for stopping by...Nancy

Piercing & Embossing Tool Kit

This handy gadget does more than pierce paper and emboss fine details.  I use it to pick up small, adhesive-backed embellishments.  Just put the piercing end under a gem for instance and lift.  The gem will be stuck to the piercer so that you can place it exactly where you want it on your artwork.

Stamp of the Month Bloghop for July 2014

Welcome to the July 2014 Stamp of the Month Bloghop!

We are fortunate to have over 40 CTMH consultants participating this month!  I am sure you will see some very creative art using the Circus Alphabet Stamp Set.

The bloghop operates as one big loop.  You can really start at any blog and then look for the names of the preceding hopper and thhttp://pamse next one to follow.  For instance, my blog post was preceded by Pam's Blog.  When you are finished with mine you'll click on the name of the next blogger which is Susan's Blog.  You can hop by going forward or backward, it doesn't matter.  At any time you get lost just visit http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html to be redirected.

I must admit that I had trouble creating my artwork this month.  I had to wait until the last minute to get started.  Then I was "entertaining" so to speak with a novice papercrafter and kept having to be engaged in dialogue.  So I got distracted and started making cutting mistakes!  Ouch!!!  In particular I wasted some of the chalkboard paper and didn't dare make one more attempt or I wouldn't have enough for my ladies.  So you will see a bubble in my banner which uses the Circus Alphabet Stamp Set.  Here's more explanation...

I had decided to make a baby card using Jubilee and the Chalkboard paper.  I planned on doing embossing with retired white embossing powder.  Little did I know that my craft heater would burn a bubble in the paper!!  I tried to redo this, but then my hand was nervous and the letters weren't as clear.  So I kept the bubble one which really is turning out to be my "perfect imperfection" which is alot like me!  Please pardon my bubble!!  I also learned something important about the chalkboard paper, it changed from dull to shiny under the heat.  I wonder if it is not really meant for embossing?! :))

Maybe the layout will inspire you with some truly baby colored paper.  This just is a little flat for me, but I like the concept.  There, I admitted it, I don't like my card!!!  Oh well, there's always next month....

The products I used are:

Jubilee Papers
Chalkboard Papers
Circus Alphabet Stamp Set
Baby Carriage Mini Stamp
Color-Ready Ribbon
Washi Tape:  Yellow Triangles, Slate Polka Dot, and Lagoon Houndstooth
Sponge
Sorbet Ink
Cotton Candy Marker  (Easily substitute a Sky Marker if the baby is a boy.)
Black Pigment Ink
Versamat
White Embossing Powder
Craft Heater
Pink Flamingo Dots  (You could use Aqua Dots for boy babies.)
Black Flourish
Babycakes Assortment

Remember that Circus Alphabet Stamp Set is only available this July 2014.  Click here to be directed to my retail site where you can order one for $5 when you qualify with a $50 order.  Or just order it for $17.95.

Thanks so much for stopping by and putting up with my humor!!  Nancy

But in case you need a day inside because you got too sunburned at the pool, I have some gorgeous card kits to offer you!  Each one is priced differently, but they all have an option to buy the stamp set used or to have me prestamp for you.  You will get the materials for five cards per kit.  Everything is precut and measured for you.  It's simple...you provide the adhesives and your good to go!

I used the amazing "Balloon Talk" papers for all of these cards.  You can order the paper by clicking here should you desire more and the whole collection.
