SOTM Blog Hop for May 2013

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!!  This month we are featuring the May SOTM - Pinwheels, a set of 10 images.

If you've just been on Jean McNulty's blog, you are at the right spot.  This blog hop is like one big circle; you can start anywhere and make the full loop around.  If you get lost along the way, there is a complete list of participating consultants at  http://www.BowlOfStamps.blogspot.com                            .

Over 60 Close to My Heart consultants are sharing their creations using Pinwheels and other CTMH products on their blogs.  Visiting all the blogs is easy; just click on the link highlighted near the bottom of each post and you will hop on over to the next blog.  Let's get started!!

When I saw, Pinwheels I immediately thought of Independence Day.  I decided to make an invitation to a Fourth of July party.  But it can be easily transformed into a birthday card or with some other sentiment.

I used the Artiste cartridge to cut out the large and medium pinwheels and stamped the coordinating image with Outdoor Denim and Cranberry respectively.  I stamped the small pinwheel in Honey and then cut it out by hand.  I cut small holes in the center of each piece and lined them up for later.  Then I used Tombow to glue them together.  The Artiste was used again to cut out the star and I also stamped it with the accompanying star image in Cranberry.

I found my inspiration of Pinterest to tear the cardstock and B&T.  I used the Tommy paper pack for the red background B&T.  This one does not have to be torn.  Then I tore two pieces of Outdoor Denim CS to be adhered over the red B&T.  Cranberry Baker's Twine overlays the red paper.  Before I tied the bow, I laced the twine through the center of the pinwheel and laced it through a red button.  I put a bit of adhesive behind the pinwheel so that it wouldn't move around.  Then I stuck this to a piece of Desert Sand CS for the card base.

I added a blue brad to the red star and then popped it on the bottom, right of the card base with a glue dot.  The lettering was from the Tiny Type Epoxy set.

On the inside, I stamped directly on the paper the same star in Cranberry and the worded image, "Let's Celebrate" in Outdoor Denim.  Below, I stamped the basics of an invitation using a former SOTM also in Ourdoor Denim.
